Children's Memorial Mass

Families Who Have Lost a Child - Children’s Memorial Mass

Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at 6:30 p.m.

St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church

Please join us on the evening of Tuesday, September 15, celebrating the Feast of the Sorrowful Mother, for the annual Children’s Memorial Mass to offer spiritual support for all families who are suffering from the loss of a child at any age.

  • We will begin by saying the 7 Sorrows of Mary Rosary Prayer at 6:00 p.m. in church by the Pieta statue.
  • Before Mass, families who have lost a child to miscarriage, still birth, abortion, as well as younger and older children who have passed away due to accident, illness or any cause are welcome to remember their loved ones by inscribing their child’s name in the Children’s Memorial Book of Life, adding their child's name to the Mass petition list, and lighting a candle.
  • The Children’s Memorial Mass will begin at 6:30 p.m.

If you or someone you know has lost a child, we hope you will join us as a community in remembering these precious children.  Please contact Ann Tollefson at 314-608-4615 / aktollefson@gmail.com if you have any questions or wish to have your child's name read during the Mass petitions and are unable to attend the Memorial Mass.

Order for the Naming and Commendation of an Infant Who Died Before Birth

The Order for the Naming and Commendation of an Infant Who Died Before Birth seeks to set the death of an infant within the context of our faith, and to unite the grieving parents and family members to the merciful God, whose love was revealed for us in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The Order for Naming and Commendation of an Infant Who Died Before Birth may be performed at any time, no matter how much time has passed since the child's death.  Please contact one of the priests or deacons if you are interested in this rite or have any questions.
