Pro Life ministry is guided by the requests from the St. Louis Archdiocesan Respect Life Apostolate, and we build from there.
We sponsor Roses for Mother's Day and gifts for Father's Day Sundays.
We celebrate a Pro Life Sunday once a month and provide important materials while serving donuts and drinks.
We man two booths at the Parish Picnic.
We host the traveling Pro Life banner twice a year.
At all Baptisms a wrapped white rose with a prayer card, a small rosary, and a note thanking the parents for choosing life is given in both English and Spanish.
We request expecting mothers to fill out a card; Pro Life members will attach to a red rose bud and put at the Our Lady of Guadalupe statue, then first name and delivery date is put in bulletin and the parish prays for a safe delivery. After the birth the name of the mother and child, and date of birth will be published in the bulletin.
We have a Chastity Essay Contest annually for 8th grade students and award three monetary gifts, and if the student agrees we publish the essay in the church bulletin.
We provide Spiritual Adoption Cards for every child in our school and PSR, asking them to make a commitment to name and pray for that child every day either at school as a group, or at home, or both. On a Pro Life Sunday we provide cards for all parishioners to do the same.
Our Pennies from Heaven project during Advent hands out baby bottles to be returned after the first of the new year. These funds plus the picnic funds are used to contribute to Youth Ministry needs, Covenant Network, Vitae, Mary Queen of Angels, Bright Futures M.H., supplies for all projects, and for whatever needs arise pertaining to protection of life and family.
We participate in the 40 Day for Life Adopt-A-Day program where our parish commits to praying at Planned Parenthood for a 12 hour period. This takes place twice a year and is saving lives.
